Aitor H. Carr is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona and researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policies (IGOP-UAB) and the Observatory on the Penal System and Human Rights (OSPDH-UB) He is a specialist on the Spanish “traditional” extreme right and on emerging “anti-immigrant” platforms and political parties. His PhD, which included interviews and fieldwork with members of the extreme right, analyzed the emergence of the most successful new extreme right party in Spain (Platform for Catalonia).
